BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Association's Board of Directors is made up 7 homeowners that volunteer their time for the administration of the affairs of the Association to include protecting and enhancing the assets of the community. The Association prides itself on promoting the concept of community and neighbor connectedness. 

Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of each month with the exception of adjustments made during the holidays. 


"Mike, Lucy and I have lived in Spectrum for almost 13 years now. I have had the pleasure of serving on the Spectrum at Val Vista board for the past 4 years. This last year I served as the Board President.  I also served on the Spectrum Common Area Use Committee which successfully drafted our Common Area Use Policy and approved the usage signs throughout the community. I am a local real estate agent and my 13 years of real estate background have been helpful in some of my community decisions on the board. As a member of the board, I strive to improve our property values within our community and maintain our affordable HOA fees. "

"I also feel it is important to solicit homeowner input on various HOA discussion items, so I represent the homeowners on board decisions. We completed a marketing branding project last year and our successful budgeting process gave us the opportunity to put some money back into our neighborhood with new granite, plants, and trees. I am passionate about our community and will strive to make Spectrum a great place to live."

Kari Hansen, Bel Aire Resident, 13 years

"I have lived in Spectrum at Silverado for the past 14 years. I have served as Director on the HOA Board since 2016. I have learned a lot about how our HOA functions in the past few years. As a homeowner, it is important to stay active in our community, keep up with the neighborhood changes and to maintain our property values. I will continue to add positive insight and views on what is important for our community as a board member."
 
Lisa Hunyada, Silverado Resident, 14 years
VICE PRESIDENT
"I have been an Arizonan for the past 6 years. I own a business in Chandler, and have won numerous awards for business including Business of the Year in Chandler and Gilbert. We love our neighborhood, and it is my hope that I can provide value to my neighbors by helping via the Board. I previously served on the Board in Colorado for 1 year, and I want to be on the Spectrum Board to help our community."
 
Joel Coen, Charisma Resident, 3 years
TREASURER
"As a licensed Real Estate Broker, I understand the value of “lifestyle” and how it relates to the value of the homes within a community. As a member of the Board of Directors, I will work hard to protect both within our community. I was first licensed in real estate in 1978 in Omaha, NE. I worked in property management for 5 years (managing HOAs) before moving to Phoenix where I continued my real estate career for 15 years in commercial development. I’ve now been running my own residential full-service real estate company for the past 28 years. My husband, a 30+ year seasoned mortgage broker/owner, and I have been homeowners for over 36 years and understand the nuances of homeownership and how it directly affects the “value” of a community. I commit to work hard to protect the charm of our beautiful Spectrum community while also working to move it forward to keep up with changing times. As a self-employed entrepreneur, I have the time and flexibility to commit to this Board position. I am honored to serve."
 
Marsha Sandoval, Bel Aire Resident, 3 years
SECRETARY

"Over the years, I have served on numerous boards, councils, and committees. I have always been involved in my community and feel like I have a lot to contribute. My wife Tracy and I lived in Central Phoenix in the same home for 41 years. We moved to Spectrum in July of 2015 because our son, daughter-in-law, and two grand-daughters live 10 houses down the street from us."

"I have been a Sound & Video System contractor for 40 plus years. When you have been in business that long, you meet a lot of people and make a lot of good contacts. Astonishing customer service is the reason that I have many clients that I still serve after 30-40 years. "

Russ Perry, Renaissance Resident, 4 years

"I am a CPA who works for an attorney. My wife and I live in the Villages at Spectrum and I have served on the Spectrum HOA Board for 5 years, serving as the Treasurer for 4. In the past I have served on the planning commission in Novi, Michigan, and I currently serve on the Finance Council for Saint Anne Catholic Church."
 
Eric Schaefer, Villages Resident, 10 years
"My family and I have been Spectrum residents for over 10 years and I absolutely love living in this community. I have 2 children ages 5 and 6 who get very excited for all of our fantastic community events. I have served on the Villages Committee since June 2016 and have greatly enjoyed being more involved in our community. Being on the board would give me a chance to help our community as a whole instead of a small portion, The Villages. I have volunteered at the last 2 annual board meetings, as well as judged the Christmas lights competition for 2 years. For the past 2 years I have worked in property management at my place of employment. It was an entire new field for me and I love every minute of it. If I can take anything I have learned and apply to my own community that would make it just that much better."
